Chris has been a primary teacher, assistant headteacher, secondary teacher and local authority consultant, trained as a national strategy consultant, supporting primary, secondary and special schools. He now works as an independent education consultant supporting schools with curriculum redevelopment and innovation.
Chris is recognised for his passion and enthusiasm for irresistible learning by leading training in schools and featuring at conferences. He is a champion for the power of independent and peer learning and has energised the curriculum in many schools. Most notably, whilst assistant headteacher at Captain Webb Primary School, where he designed and specified the installation of a radio station, started WebbFM, WebbTV (both of which were the responsibility of pupils who had to apply for jobs), developed an internet cafe for parents and introduced and supported video conferencing and chat that pupils used inside and outside school hours to contact school children all over the world.
Chris wants teachers to be innovators and have confidence to try things out. He has a particular interest in developing teaching and learning. Using humour and down-to-earth delivery, Chris is popular with audiences and has delivered a variety of engaging, high-impact sessions to different groups.
