Samantha Bainbridge has been teaching English and Media studies for nearly 10 years, working as Head of Media, Key Stage 3 English co-ordinator and currently with responsibility for Key Stage 4 English in a North-East school. In addition to her roles, Samantha has always managed to cultivate her passion for Teaching and Learning through whole school delivery and the development of Literacy-based initiatives, designed to promote teacher effectiveness.
As a regular presenter at Teachmeets across the North East, Samantha is always keen to engage a wide range of education professionals in a journey to develop their own practice. A keen supporter of, and Curator for the Pedagoo movement, she regularly writes about techniques and classroom practice with a view to gaining the most productive outcomes for the pupils involved.
Passionate about pedagogy and enthused by exploring the theory behind the practice, Samantha has delivered training in a range of contexts. She enjoys using art, pictures, music and the clarify-prepare-share-link process to develop high-quality teaching and thinking communities within the classroom. Training with Samantha is always very hands-on, offering practical advice and take-away resources to challenge and develop both staff and pupils. She enjoys relevant and current engagement with research and writing on teaching and learning, so you can be sure to leave with a ‘Teacher Reading List’ to ensure the learning doesn’t stop after the session.
