Jane Panter

Jane is an experienced teacher and trainer. She is an English AST and currently a deputy headteacher in a large school in Northampton.

Much of her background has been in working in schools in special measures, leading teams to raise attainment. She has a particular interest in how AFL can be enacted to secure student engagement and achievement and outstanding teaching. She writes resources for English teachers to support their teaching of poetry for OCR GCSE.

Jane’s consultancy work has focused on delivering workshops nationally on what makes an outstanding lesson, how to show that students’ progress in every lesson, effective questioning strategies to achieve an ‘outstanding’ grading, how to lead teaching and learning effectively across the school, and other courses focusing on developing a learning culture in schools.

The best part of her day is when she teaches, “I believe it is a privilege to work with young people, and I have seen how education enacts opportunity”.
