Gill Kelly has had an extremely successful career in education. She has worked in four schools, taught up to A level, and was Deputy Headi/c of Teaching, learning and Curriculum during a Building Schools for the future (BSF) whole school build programme. She speaks regularly on the matter in the UK and internationally. She is the author of ‘Where will I do my pineapples? A little book about building a whole new school’.
Gill was the Principal of a large multi cultural Academy . The school population came from 64 different countries and spoke 44 different languages. During her leadership, the school achieved a ‘Good’ Ofsted inspection and increased its progress levels. Gill has experience of redesigning leadership structures and adapting a curriculum to suit the needs of the learners. She is experienced in leading high levels of complexity.
Since leaving Headship, Gill has worked in both Primary and Secondary settings in the UK and internationally. She has successfully mentored middle and senior leaders in a range of contexts. Her speciality is in empowering others to achieve their goals in the field of education and beyond. She is a practical ‘feet on the ground’ trainer and draws on twenty years of practice. Recent work in the Primary phase of the British school of Tokyo was described as having a ‘profound’ effect on their practice.
